3 Tips to Help Your Facebook Page VisibilityFacebook Page Owners should take note of several features that can make a difference in how often users see your posts. Help boost your Page’s visibility by using these features, explaining them to Fans and then suggesting they use them to stay connected.

 Tip #1: Use the Pages Feed

The Pages Feed is found on everyone’s Personal Profile. You should see this in the left navigation column of your Home screen.  If you click on the Pages Feed, you will see posts from all Pages you have Liked.

Encourage your Fans to use the Pages Feed to see all posts from Pages they  have liked, not just the ones that find their way into their News Feed through EdgeRank (Facebook’s algorithm for deciding which posts are important to you).

The more Pages you and your Fans Like, the busier the Pages Feed becomes, so use the next tip to better organize a News Feed.

Tip #2: Set Up Interest Lists & Encourage Your Fans to Use Them Too

Interest Lists are very helpful for keeping up with Pages by topic and are even more useful when you start to Like so many Pages that you can’t keep up with them all through the Pages Feed.

You create an Interest List and add Pages and People as you see fit. Then when you click on that Interest List in the left navigation column, you only see posts from members of that List in your News Feed.

You can set Interest Lists to public or private viewing and other users can subscribe to any public Lists. They are also a great tool for content curation – finding and sharing content your target audience finds helpful. Use your Interest Lists to quickly add great content to your Page.

For example, I love sharing motivational quotes and images on my Personal Profile. I’ve created an Interest List (called Motivation, Inspiration & More) that contains all the Pages I’ve liked on this topic. Every morning, I can click on that Interest List, look for a great quote/image and share it with my Facebook friends or Fans.

Ask your Fans to create an Interest List for “favorite pages” or for the topic your Page focuses on; for example, I would recommend that our League Computer Solutions Fans create an Interest List for “Social Media Tips” and add our Page to it.

So I suggest you take advantage of both features and recommend that your Fans do the same: use the Pages Feed so you can keep up with all Pages you’ve Liked and then create Interest Lists based on topics that interest you.

Tip #3: Ask Fans to Click on the “Get Notifications” Feature

A third feature is Notifications – once you’ve Liked a Page, you can choose to “Get Notifications”. You will receive a notification on Facebook any time that Page posts a new update, in the same way that other notifications work (groups, posts, pictures, etc.)

Ask your Fans to choose the “Get Notifications” feature for your Page, so they don’t miss any posts, specials or events your business offers.

Note: if you post too often, Fans may become annoyed with all the notifications, so keep that in mind when recommending this feature.

How to Set Up These Features

The Pages Feed is automatically populated with new posts from any Page you have Liked, so you don’t need to take any extra steps to set it up.

The Get Notifications option and the Interest List option are both features you do have to “set up” or choose. Save time and do both at the same time! Whenever you Like a Page (and know it will soon become a favorite), click on Get Notifications under the Like button and then immediately add the Page to one of your Interest Lists (make sure you have set up a few ahead of time).

Three Tips to Help Your Facebook Page Visibility

As a Page Owner, you can point out these features to your Fans periodically by creating a post that you “pin” to the top of your Page’s Timeline. (A post will stay “pinned” for a maximum of 7 days and you can re-pin the same post later.)

So you may want to pin a post that lists the benefits of these features twice a month, for several days at a time. That way, new Fans will see it and other Fans will be reminded of the best ways to be kept up-to-date with your Page’s posts.

Bonus Tip: Choose a High-Traffic Time to Pin a Post

A great time to pin a post asking your Fans to use these features is the day (or the day after) you participate in a Facebook networking event (Fan Page Fridays, Twitter Tuesdays, etc.).

Every week, we hold Fan Page Friday, so stop by our Facebook page, join the networking event and then create a “welcome” post (either later that day or on Saturday) that explains what your Page is all about, as well as how new Fans can use these features to stay connected and see more of your posts.
