1. Today Was FB’s Q3 Earnings Call: 10 Things You Need To Know Right Now
Nathan Latka shared some interesting Facebook statistics and possible future trends on LinkedIn publisher this week.
Some stats and take-a-ways for small business owners (the stats are from Nathan’s article; the tips are from me):
864 million daily active users up from 829 million in the second quarter of 2014 – People log onto Facebook daily, so posting once a week on your Page won’t cut it.
1.12 billion use Facebook mobile each month up 250m since last year – Mobile use is growing very fast, so take that into account with your posts.
700 million people use Facebook groups every month – Groups are big, and rumor is, that Facebook may spin off a separate App for Groups in 2015, so you may want to consider creating one for your business.
1 billion video views a day in September – Videos are even bigger, so it’s time to get serious about a video marketing strategy if you haven’t already.
30 million active Facebook fan pages – That’s a lot of competition for your posts. Spending even a small amount for Facebook advertising ($1.00 per day) is one of the best ways to increase your posts’ reach.
