HubSpot shared some helpful stats on the Infographic below (created with research from Audiense) that will help you optimize your Tweets and see more success on this platform.
Here are 4 tips for a perfect Tweet:
- Use an image – 34% of Tweets with images get Retweeted
- Place your link (URL) in the middle of the Tweet – 26% of Tweets with the URL in the middle are more likely to be Retweeted
- Use a hashtag – 33% of Tweets with hashtags get Retweeted, but a Tweet with one hashtag is 69% more likely to be Retweeted than a Tweet with two hashtags
- Pay attention to the length of your hashtags – Hashtags with 11 characters get 117% more Retweets than Hashtags with 6-10 characters
Using this formula, here is an example of a Tweet I would create for this blog post:

(Upload an image to go with your Tweet: Twitter-only images can be optimized at 440 x 220 pixels; but square images now show up on Twitter as well, so if you’re creating images for Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, you can use 1200 x 1200 pixels)
