Messenger Updates (new CTA buttons)
Messenger Platform 2.1 Brings New Tools to Enrich Conversations
This rollout includes several updates for developers, and new buttons to drive people to Messenger:
“Today, we are launching five new Call to Action (CTA) buttons that businesses and developers can add to their Page to drive people to their Messenger experience. In addition to the currently available “Send Message” CTA, businesses, and developers can select from the following options: Shop Now, Get Support, Get Updates, Play Now and Get Started. These descriptive CTA options let people know what to expect when they start a conversation with a business.”
Have you seen this option on your Pages yet? See the screenshot below from our LCS Page:
We’ll be testing it to see if this is a good way to get people to start communicating with a business through the Messenger App.

Note that we are changing our blogging schedule going forward: Every 2 weeks, we’ll be sharing updates from Facebook and its owned platforms such as Instagram and the Messenger App. These bi-weekly posts will take the place of our Weekly Must Reads posts. We’re making this change as Facebook remains one of the most important platforms for small business owners, and we’d like to concentrate our content curation efforts on its related platforms.
For daily updates, we recommend that you follow us on Twitter @socialmediaLCS where we share news and updates on all-things social media. Content curation – finding and sharing the best resources – remains one of our biggest blogging and social media account goals, so please let us know if there are other topics you’d like to see covered more on our sites!
