Just in case you missed them, here are a few changes (or new features) that Facebook rolled out last week:
The Voice Option – a quick way to change the way you post on your Page
In the past, if you wanted to interact on your Page as your Personal Profile (which is a good idea every so often for more visibility), it took several steps to change from your Page to your Personal Profile.
Now with the Voice option at the top of your Facebook tool bar, you can easily switch back and forth from Page to Personal Profile when interacting with your Page.
Change Your Page’s Username – with caution
If you don’t like your Page’s username or maybe it contains a typo, you now have one chance to change it.
Your username (or “vanity” URL) is the name that follows: facebook.com/
Don’t confuse that with your Page name, which can be changed as many times as you want when you have less than 100 Fans; after that, you can “request” a Page name change from Facebook (which sometimes requires documents to prove you own that business name)
For example, our Page’s name is League Computer Solutions, Inc.
Our username is: www.facebook.com/leaguecomputers
Caution: there has been some discussion/concern that changing your username, especially on an established account, may cause problems when people are searching for you (since the original username is indexed by Google).
So you may want to only consider this option if you have a relatively new Page or have a typo/error that really should be corrected.
Facebook Ad Image Size
A third change this past week was that the size of the image used in Facebook Ads decreased to 100 x 72 pixels (original size was 100 x 80). It’s not a big change but it could make a difference in how your ads look.
You may want to review existing ads to make sure the image still looks good.
Did we miss any changes? It can be a challenge to keep up with Facebook! Let us know if you’ve noticed anything new!
