Quotes and Inspiration – here are some of our favorite quotes, along with a few tips for creating your own. Visual posts get some of the highest rates of engagement and reach on social media, and an easy way to get started is with inspirational quotes. The quotes you share can be your own, from leaders in your industry, or from well-known figures, authors, or philosophers.
Use your own photos as a backdrop for image quotes, ask customers for photos to share, or check out free / paid resources for high-quality photos (and always give required attribution, depending on guidelines from the sites you visit).
Then find a favorite quote to overlay on the photo. You can simply do a google search for “motivational quotes”, “quotes”, etc. or use a platform like GoodReads to find quotes from authors. Are you reading an insightful book or article? Take a quote from that source to use on your photos.
Some platforms and apps now offer a database of quotes to make it even easier to add them to your photos. Or provide your own thoughts or insights in quote form for your image quotes.
Hashtags help your quotes show up on most social sites. If you need to learn more about hashtags, see our blog post: 3 Tips for Using Hashtags in Social Media. Do some research of your own, but note that some of the top hashtags on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook are:
#qotd #quotes #quotestoliveby #quotesoftheday – you get the idea, right?
Some of our favorite tools for creating inspirational quotes include:
- Pablo by Buffer (free images and quotes)
- Canva and PicMonkey (free photo editors, where you supply the quotes)
- Typorama (mobile App)
- WordSwag (mobile App)
- Adobe Spark Post (desktop and mobile App)
